Blogging not bumming

by Scott Schroeder on December 17, 2006

*UPDATE: I have gone ahead and removed the bliggybank and indiekarma buttons from my site but I do still believe that bloggers/writers/authors deserve to be rewarded for their hard work.

While visiting a blog that I had the opportunity to discover (b/c of mybloglog), I liked what I saw so I read down further to learn of indieKarma which is, in my opinion, an ingenious rest haven for bloggers. Members of this blogger gathering donate (as much as they want or nothing at all if they should choose so) micro-payments to each other to better display their appreciation and support for the content that fellow bloggers produce. Unfortuately, this is an appreciation that is often overlooked and never extended. Take a moment to think of all the content that is available on the web. With the help of bloggers/content producers, we are allowed access to an infinite amount of library like resources at our finger tips (even from the convenience of our home).

Prior to creating this post, I was reminded (by a friend) of a service similar to indieKarma that I had previously heard of but had not realized until now. So, I just joined both indieKarma and Bliggy Bank to determine which one (if not both) my users and I like best. Thanks to sites like Bliggy Bank and indieKarma, hopefully, the respect and appreciation for all the various resources on the web will be paid. ScottPot, respeK.

LOL - I know a few people who are blogging for exercise. For every comment they get, they walk or run 1 min on the treadmill…

Now I can’t imagine if the media picks up on it..

Unfortunately, I’ve noticed a lot of problems with indieKarma, including a massive security vulnerability. I haven’t looked at Bliggy Bank yet.
