4/29/2007: BIG scott’s Sunday Picayune
Tip For The Day
With the help of EB, over at connectedinternet, I found another great spot to plant your URL. This new directory, certainly a rest haven for traffic, is none other than MySpace News (you thought I was going to say SU, huh). And, submitting your site is BIG easy like 1, 2, 3; all you do is enter site/blog/RSS name, type in the URL and select an appropriate category. Go on, submit you some.
The Web
I saw a post on SmartWealthyRich (SWR- I spoke about them previously on the BIG blog) about communities and interaction with this thing that some call web 2.0 and noticed the name of a new community, BlogCatalog (BC). I made a mental note of it and, later that day, I saw a BC widget while visiting my friend, AV’s blog, AVCR8TEUR’S OWN LITTLE UNIVERSE. I decided it was time to see what this new, hot neighborhood was all about. Needless to say, I joined and have become attached. If you are a member (or are considering becoming a member) and we are not neighbors, let’s get connected.
*UPDATE- This just in, BlogCatalog: Blogging Good In The Neighborhood

Things seem to be picking up again with Simulagent as plans for more development and possible revenue models are discussed via Basecamp.

Swamble is still in the picture, stay tuned, I’ll keep you posted. We are currently mapping out some of the basics, getting this UI deisgn ready.
Wallhogs (the other BIG easy) are also perfect for the dorm room, just ask Tanner Johnson over at SportsShooter.

Good old boy, a fellow Jesuit alumni, Corey Hilliard, will be going to New England. Sraight from NOLA.com,
The Patriots took Hillard with the 209th overall pick (sixth round). Hilliard was a four-year started at offensive tackle at Oklahoma State. His freshman season, he played right tackle, but moved over to left for the 2004 season. He moved back to right tackle in the first five games last season, then back to left because of an injury to the left tackle. He was first-team all-Big 12 Conference as a senior last season. He has good size and quick feet and a strong upper body. Hilliard had a stellar senior season at Jesuit High School. He was first-team all-metro selection by the Times-Picayune and AP all-State.

Hey Scott, thanx for the mention! Happy you like BC
Anytime, JP, I’m always glad to spread the love and share what others have helped me to learn. Saw your most recent post about pillar content vs link trains and, once again, great post! Kendall wasn’t lying, your blog rocks, dude.
Yeah, thanks for the mention of my blog too!
Is that the Oscar Mayer mobile in the background? I actually have been inside it when it came to town. Hahaha!
No problem, AV, you are more than welcome. I am a daily reader of your blog, I gotta share the good stuff. And, yes, I think that is the weinermobile in the back. I was looking for (still am) that bologna commercial where the kid is like “my bologna has a middle name, middle name…” and came across that video. LOL Is it cool inside? Pimped out or just simple old weinermobile?
