Wake Up, Wake Up, Wake Up, It’s A Thunderstorm
Early this morning, I was woken up from my slumber by sounds of thunder rolling and flashes of lighting striking. Apparently, August is the month for this type of activity, especially in Las Vegas, NV. Hopefully, this dark and gloomy weather, and the precipitation that it brings, will help my poor old, brown grass.

Is that how your dogs act during the thunderstorm? Mine would shake like a leaf and hide under the deepest & darkest corner. Luckily, we don’t get thunderstorms here very often.
Hey, AV, no, this shot was actually taken in the apartment that I was living in near Dublin/Pleasanton. My dogs had just woken up, you can see Luke, the one in the front, on the right, is a bit sidetracked/slow to focus. And, his brother, Beaux, who falls asleep on his back every now and then, is glad to open his eyes and see me.
They get a little startled when it thunders loud and, sometimes Beaux will let out a bark but, other than that, they usually just hold it down on their bed (all the time).
…..It’s definitely cooling down out here, no more 115-120, it was in the high 80’s today. Yipppeeee, summer heat is coming to an end!!
Are dogs as paranoid as cats when it comes to rain? I mean, you won’t be seeing many cats who will stride in the rain like horse. How about dogs?
Hi, Cherry! I think, honestly, it depends on the animal’s personality. I would imagine that a majority of, if not all, dogs are paranoid/a bit off point when it comes to rain. I love horses. How about you?
I mean what about your dogs? But since you live in an apartment there won’t be a chance where they will be exposed to a little rain.
My dogs are not much on rain (or sprinklers) and Luke, especially, is often hesitant to go out my back sliding door when the sprinklers are on (and when it is raining).
Last night, we went to the park late and the sprinklers came on… they both ran to an area where the water would not get them. They are not as scared as cats when it comes to water but, they don’t like to frolic around in it either.
How are the cats doing? Have the kittens been born yet?
