My Initial iNput on the iPhone
I finally got my iPhone connected and sort of synced up (and canceled my Verizon services) and I have to admit, first and foremost, that this thing is a bit heavier than I would have imagined. Not that this is a bad feature but it is something that came to mind as soon as I grasped it in my palm.
And, while I am delivering the bad news, I might as well mention that the on-screen keyboard for this little tooter is a bit compact for my fingers. It is hard to hit the exact key (letter, number and/or symbol) but I would think that, with practice, I will be a pro in no time.
Other then that, I am fascinated with the appearance and capability of the iPhone. This thing looks extremely clean and operates on the dime. It was very easy to set up; you simply download iTunes (if you don’t already have it), plug in your iPhone to your computer (via the provided cable and base/dock) and follow the online instructions accordingly.
Honestly, I still don’t know exactly what this phone can truly do but I love all of the features that I have used thus far. For instance, the Google Maps button is awesome. You simply tap the screen and zoom in to just about anywhere you want, satellite view and all!
Plus, it’s got a YouTube button for easy searching, viewing and listening as well as a handy notepad button for scribbling down those must have notes, reminders and/or thoughts. In addition, it’s got a weather button, a stocks button and a calender button for immediate access. And, of course, it’s got a camera and a calculator, too!
I still need to figure a lot of the functions (like adding email addresses that aren’t gmail, yahoo, AOL or mac accounts) but, for now, I think I have plenty to use and plenty to enjoy. Stay tuned, more about the iPhone to come, as I learn it and elaborate on it.

Very cool Scott. I have an invite for you on the way to a new service that I re-discovered this past weekend. I am adding you as a friend.
Hey, Drew, thanks for the invite, I have just joined! Off to shower then head to the day grind, be back online later today!
Looking forward to hear more about your iPhone. Perhaps someday I’ll get the 2nd Gen version.
Hey, AV! Yeah, I wasn’t even considering getting one because I would rather have waited for newer/better models to come out but, since I won one for free, I had to try it sooner than later. I am anxious to see the updates that follow for the iPhone..I would imagine nothing but greatness.
