A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words, Even Through LinkedIn

by Scott Schroeder on September 30, 2007

LinkedIn adds photos As of this past Friday, September 28, 2007, the professional networking site, LinkedIn, is now allowing members to upload photographs to their profiles (one photo per member). So as to set LinkedIn apart from the commonly known social communities, MySpace and Facebook, LinkedIn has strayed away from the photo uploading feature for some time now. But, even the administrators at LinkedIn understand the functions that a photograph allows for (i.e. recognizing colleagues and classmates as well as viewing a potential future employee).

With that said, members will also be allowed to update their settings so as to set (or deny) photo access to certain users. This way, you will be able to control who sees your photograph. LinkedIn, perhaps now more than ever, still appears to serve as an excellent place for individuals to connect with classmates and colleagues while building their business profiles for employers, investors and business professionals alike. I think this photo adding feature is a good move for LinkedIn. What about you?
