Just What the Doctor Ordered

by Scott Schroeder on April 30, 2008

As I had mentioned in one of my previous Twitter ramblings, I just took both of my English Springer Spaniels to the veterinarian for their yearly check-up. All in all, the dogs were said to be healthy but, from the number that the scale reported, Beaux seems to be (following in my foot steps and) adding on a few unnecessary pounds. Compared to his brother Luke, who weighed in at 60lbs, Beaux topped the charts at 70lbs.

In addition to helping Beaux trim down that waist line, the vet suggested cleaning their teeth a bit. To do so, he recommended using the t/d canine food from Science Diet and informed me that I could either cut it in with their current food or simply give it to them throughout the day as treats. I chose the latter because this t/d Science Diet food comes in relatively big size bites/pieces so they work perfect as treats.

It’s practically May now so it may be a little late for new year’s resolutions but, I plan to help Beaux knock off some weight (by taking him and his brother out more regularly throughout the day/night) and I plan to improve the health of their teeth (by using the recommended food/products). If I am lucky, this discipline will carry over in to my personal life and will help me to lose a few while promoting my wellness and overall productivity. Off we go!
