When In Huntington Beach..
If you find yourself on the look out for a cozy beach spot in Southern California that is dog friendly, look no further than the Huntington Dog Beach located (in Huntington Beach) on Pacific Coast Highway between 21st Street and Seapoint Street - see it on Google maps. And, you can leave the leashes behind because this 1 mile long stretch of Dog Beach allows you to un-leash your dog(s) and let them run free, to meet, greet, sniff and lick other fellow canines enjoying the cool beach vibe.

Well, Look Who Decided To Show Up
When I bought this plant last year, it was covered in these little purple flowers (with yellow insides) which died off after about a month and seized to grow back for the past 9+ months - the plant still got bigger with its green, vegetative growth, but with no production of the purple and yellow flowers. Oddly enough, a couple of days after arriving in Southern California (from Las Vegas), the glossy purple petals along with their matching yellow pistols began to sprout out and fully blossom…

Oh Snap! It’s Questlove From The Roots!!

..snapped this photo of The Roots’ very own, Ahmir Thompson (aka Questlove), on the fly with my trusty iPhone as my buddy Corey and I were walking to a separate stage at the New Orleans Jazz Fest this past May.

Just What the Doctor Ordered
As I had mentioned in one of my previous Twitter ramblings, I just took both of my English Springer Spaniels to the veterinarian for their yearly check-up. All in all, the dogs were said to be healthy but, from the number that the scale reported, Beaux seems to be (following in my foot steps and) adding on a few unnecessary pounds. Compared to his brother Luke, who weighed in at 60lbs, Beaux topped the charts at 70lbs.
In addition to helping Beaux trim down that waist line, the vet suggested cleaning their teeth a bit. To do so, he recommended using the t/d canine food from Science Diet and informed me that I could either cut it in with their current food or simply give it to them throughout the day as treats. I chose the latter because this t/d Science Diet food comes in relatively big size bites/pieces so they work perfect as treats.
It’s practically May now so it may be a little late for new year’s resolutions but, I plan to help Beaux knock off some weight (by taking him and his brother out more regularly throughout the day/night) and I plan to improve the health of their teeth (by using the recommended food/products). If I am lucky, this discipline will carry over in to my personal life and will help me to lose a few while promoting my wellness and overall productivity. Off we go!
